A Shelter Island waterfront landmark since 1925, the Dory Bar and Restaurant is bringing to life the music of that era with the first Shelter Island Jazzfest.

The five-day mini-festival runs from Monday, August 18 through Saturday, August 23 at the restaurant and promises to be full of the genre’s greatest contemporary performers as well an array of exciting new artists.

Headlining the series on Tuesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 20 is the legendary Freddy Cole and his quartet. On Saturday, August 23, world renowned jazz pianist and co-headliner Judy Carmichael will take the stage.

Those familiar with summertime on Shelter Island know that Freddy Cole is no stranger to the Dory. For several summers he has performed at the restaurant and this year owner Jack Kiffer decided to turn the annual appearance into a full week-long jazz festival.

All shows will be held in the Dory’s outside restaurant deck overlooking Shelter Island’s Chase Creek.

Admission ranges from $10 to $85 depending on the acts playing the night you attend.
