They’re celebrating summer at The Pridwin.
The historic Shelter Island hotel is kicking off the month of July with not one, but three different cookouts leading up to their big night of fireworks on July 11.
Beginning on July 1, The Pridwin kicks off its legendary and very popular outdoor Wednesday night cookouts, followed by live music and dancing. The Pridwin’s Wednesday night cookouts are an all-out party with an all-you-can-eat menu.
On Saturday the Pridwin hosts their annual 4th of July cookout with the fireworks taking off from nearby Greenport.
Then on the following Saturday July 11th, the Pridwin will hold their own annual Independence Day cookout. Fireworks will be provided by the Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce. Prices for both special Independence Day cookouts are $45 for adults and $20 for children.
Some of the goodies expected on the menu include steamed clams, shrimp on the half shell, filet mignon, grilled tuna, plus barbecue favorites like hamburgers and hot dogs.
The Pridwin Hotel is a classic American Hotel with a long history on Shelter Island. Built between 1924 and 1926, the 10 acre site, located on Crescent Beach, is famous for its protected waters and breathtaking views.
The hotel takes its name “Pridwin” from the shield belonging to King Arthur. It’s a family run resort that’s been run by the same family for the past 56 years. Generations of families continue to visit the Pridwin and return year after year.
The Pridwin Hotel’s weekly Wednesday night cookouts are $39 for adults and $18 for children. Reservations are required for all of these events, so please call ahead (631-749-0476) to let the hotel know how many of you are coming. They will need an accurate head count to make sure there’s enough food for all. Come by land or by sea, as dock space is available on a first come, first served basis.
