The turkey has been eaten, the relatives are restless and you’ve got a long weekend ahead of you. Don’t worry, there’s plenty to do.

Here are three events to check out on Shelter Island this weekend.

Shop the Sugar Plum Fair Gift Boutique

Come shop for gifts and other goodies at the Presbyterian Church Saturday, Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the SIPC Fellowship Hall. There will be a bake sale, homemade crafts and gifts, a basket raffle and lunch will be served. The Shelter Island Presbyterian Church is located at 32 N. Ferry Road, 631-749-0805

Take the Plunge for the Shelter Island Library

The Friends of the Shelter Island Library will sponsor their 6th annual Turkey Plunge on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. at Crescent Beach. Proceeds will benefit the library. All plungers welcome — toes, ankles, knees, waist or full immersion and wetsuits are allowed. Each participant should raise at least $25.  Sign up at the library in advance or at Crescent Beach that day at 10 a.m.  Local businesses have donated prizes for best costumes and for most money raised by an individual and a team. Every plunger will get a T-shirt and a Turkey Plunge button. Hot cider and donut holes will be served.

Cheer on your local ballers

Come watch a basketball game for a good cause. The sixth annual LT Joseph J. Theinert 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament kicks off Saturday Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Shelter Island School gymnasium. Proceeds benefit the Joseph J. Theinert Fund, which awards scholarships in the memory of First Lieutenant Joe Theinert of Shelter Island, who died in Afghanistan in 2010. The suggested entrance fee is $5 per person. The Shelter Island School is located at 33 North Ferry Road, 631-835-6503.
