4 Things to do on Shelter Island Dec. 11, 12 & 13

Looking for some ideas to ring in some holiday cheer? Here are four things to do on Shelter Island this weekend:

Frank Sinatra Dinner Celebration

Celebrate the Chairman of the Board’s 100th birthday with a meal he would have loved. On Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12, the Shelter Island Tavern will serve a special four-course dinner featuring some of Frank Sinatra’s favorite dishes, like Clams Posillipo and Veal Milanese. Dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Tavern is located at the Shelter Island House at 11 Stearns Point Road. Call (631) 749-5659 to make reservations.

PTSA Breakfast with Santa

Join the Shelter Island Parent Teacher Student Association for breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church. $10 for adults, $5 for children, $25 per family. Kids under 3 are free. Don’t forget to bring your camera for a picture with Santa. The Shelter Island Presbyterian Church is located at 32 N. Ferry Road.

The Chequit Tree Lighting

Come to the Chequit’s first Tree Lighting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. There will be a bake sale, as well as refreshments for sale. Kids will enjoy ornament and cookie decorating, as carolers serenade the crowd. Pop into the photo booth for some memorable pictures with Santa. All proceeds will benefit the Shelter Island Historical Society. The Chequit is located at 23 Grand Avenue in Shelter Island Heights.

Shelter Island Community Chorus Christmas Concert

Hear the Community Chorus Christmas Concert from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m on Sunday, Dec. 13. There will be a Christmas cantata, performances by the youth ensemble and instrumental soloists. The concert is free and a reception will follow. The concert will take place at the Presbyterian Church located at at 32 N. Ferry Road.
