Here are four events to check out this weekend:

Love Poems at the Library

On Friday, Feb. 19 the Shelter Island Library will present a romantic Friday Night Dialogue followed by the delightful Italian film, “Il Postino.”

The poetry presentation — favorite Pablo Nureda poem read by members of the Art Barnett Poetry Roundtable — will start the evening off and allow a glimpse of the power of love through poetry, which is at the essence of the film.

Admission is free though donations are accepted.

The Shelter Island Library is located at 37 N. Ferry Road.

Learn the Art of Quilting

Textile and media artist Susan Schrott will conduct an all day workshop at the Shelter Island Library this Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. While the workshop is free, you will need to register and bring your own supplies.
