Friday, April 8 

The Newport Folk Festival, A retrospective

See the 1960s era film about the Newport Folk Festival at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor on Friday, April 8.

From 1963-1965 Academy award-winning director Murray Lerner filmed the Newport Folk Festival featuring folk legends like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, and many more.

After the screening there will be a discussion on the movie and the folk music scene of the time featuring never before seen excerpts from the film.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at baystreet.org or by calling (631) 725-9500. The Bay Street Theatre is located at 1 Bay Street in Sag Harbor.

“The Drowsy Chaperone”

See the Shelter Island High School Drama Club perform The Drowsy Chaperone on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 at 8 p.m. There will also be a matinee performance on Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and can be reserved by calling (631) 749-0302, x 100.

Mashomack 3-Mile Hike

Take a 3-mile hike through Mashomack Preserve on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Learn about introduced and exotic species from an expert while you navigate the trail.

The Sylvester Manor Farm Stand will be open on Saturday, April 9 from noon to 2 p.m.
