Newsday released its 2016 list of the top 100 Long Island restaurants and one Shelter Island eatery made the cut.
When it comes to fine dining, the Italian country eatery 18 Bay Restaurant, owned by Elizabeth Ronzetti and Adam Kopels, was cited for its coziness and menu choices.
Every week 18 Bay offers a four-course, market-driven menu that constantly changes.
According to Newsday, “choices are few, but results are grand.” Among the many recommended dishes were the bluefish crudo with celery lettuce, local razor clams with fennel ravigote, fried blowfish with chili and mint sauce, grilled lamb meatballs, spaghetti alla chitarra with littleneck clams and cannelloni with goat’s milk ricotta.
18 Bay is located at 23 North Ferry Road on Shelter Island. For more information or to make reservations call (631) 749-0053 or visit 18bayrestaurant.com.
Seven North Fork restaurants also made the list, they include America Beech, First and South and Noah’s of Greenport, as well as Caci North Fork, Southold Fish Market, North Fork Table and Inn and the North Fork Shack of Southold.
