Friday Night Dialogues: “Letterati”
Come hear dramatic readings from letters written over the past 2,000 years on Friday, September 2 at 7 p.m. at the Shelter Island Library.
Curated and performed by Kathy and Terry Brockbank, “Letterati” celebrates the lost art of letter writing and correspondence. These readings will explore the wit, wisdom, love and laughter in letters written by the famous and infamous.

Shelter Island Snapper Derby
Take the kids fishing on Shelter Island for the Annual Snapper Derby competition on Saturday, September 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kids can fish all day, then prizes will be awarded at a 5 p.m. weigh-in at the American Legion Hall. The Shelter Island Lions Club chefs will even cook up your catch after the awards ceremony.

Dering Harbor Inn Barbecue
Say goodbye to summer at the Dering Harbor Inn’s last summer barbecue on Sunday, September 4 from 12 to 3 p.m.
The Inn offers a variety of foods, soft drinks, music and games, as well as breathtaking views of the Harbor.
