The Great Peconic Race
Compete in or just come to watch this paddle race on Saturday, September 10. Proceeds benefit the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program.
The 19-mile course circumnavigates Shelter Island. New this year is a 9-mile race course, which goes halfway round the island. A 3-mile recreational course is also available. A Beach Party BBQ will take place after the race.
Registration for the Great Peconic Race begins at 7 a.m. The race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at Wade’s Beach. Cost to participate is $125 for the 19 and 9-mile races and $90 for the 3-mile race. Tickets for the post-race Beach Party BBQ, which runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., are $75 per person and must be purchased online in advance. For more information visit greatpeconicrace.com. Sag Harbor Harborfest
Celebrate Sag Harbor’s maritime history with a two-day festival on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11.
Enjoy street vendors, seafood, and live music on the wharf. There will also be a craft fair and sidewalk sale along Main Street, plus whale boat races in the harbor.

Sunday Night Jazz at Ram’s Head Inn
Listen to the sounds of live jazz as this early fall classic returns to the Ram’s Head Inn every Sunday night from September 11 through Columbus Day.
Relax and enjoy a drink inside Harbor Hall, the inn’s new cocktail lounge, or watch the sunset on their great lawn.
There is no cover charge. The event begins at 6 p.m.
