In recent years, the hottest tickets on the coldest nights have been for the “Fireside Sessions with Nancy Atlas and Friends” at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.
In January, Atlas, a rocker of some acclaim in these parts, and her band returns to Bay Street. Each Saturday of the month, they will be heating up the theater’s stage along with special musical guests as they offer inspiring jams and soulful ballads to ease us all into the New Year and whatever may come in 2017.
Nancy Atlas and her band of journeymen, The Nancy Atlas Project, have been dominating the East End music scene for many years. Known for her raw, live performances and stellar songwriting Atlas and her band have opened for almost everyone under the sun, including Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Buffett, Crosby, Stills and Nash to name just a few.
So shake off those winter blues and join Nancy Atlas and her band each Saturday in January. If you want in, now would be a good time to buy tickets. Bay Street Theater has 299 seats, and if past history is any predictor of things to come, these concerts will sell out in fairly short order.
Here’s the schedule:
January 7: Clark Gayton (monster trombone magic)
January 14: Danny Kean (super funky keyboard)
January 21: Randi Fishenfeld (insanely epic violin)
January 28: Special guest performer yet to be announced
Tickets are $25. To purchase, visit baystreet.org or call (631) 725-9500. Bay Street Theater is located on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.
