Foraging on the Farm
June 16 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm| $65
Join herbalist Dawn Petter to walk the Sylvester Manor grounds and explore the native plants that grow wild in our area. Participants will discuss the benefits of backyard ‘weeds’ and how to safely identify and use what is found for homemade remedies. They will learn how to better utilize herbs in their daily lives as they touch, see, smell and taste a variety of plants and discover creative ways to use them in food and medicine.
Dawn will demonstrate how to make an herbal tincture, an herb infused oil and a sun tea. Everyone will go home with an herbal tincture made in class and recipe cards for continued experimentation!
