Friday Night Dialogue: Poetry Readings
Come to a poetry reading at the Shelter Island Library on Friday, August 12 at 7 p.m.
Poets David Katz and Linda Stern will share examples of their work. Mr. Katz is a financial journalist and editor, his latest work is Stanzas on Oz: Poems 2011 to 2014. Ms. Stern’s first poetry collection, Why We Go by Twos: Poems 1970 – 2014, was published in 2015 by Barefoot Muse Press. Ms. Stern and Mr. Katz co-publish the poetry magazine Endymion.

Island Gift of Life Foundation 2nd Annual Summer Soiree
Spend an afternoon enjoying food, drinks and shopping on Saturday, August 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ram’s Head Inn.
There will be a J. McLaughlin trunk show, live music, an art auction, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds benefit the Island Gift of Life Foundation, which provides financial assistance and other related support services to patients on the East End with life-threatening illnesses.
Dering Harbor Inn Sunday Summer Barbecue
Join the Dering Harbor Inn on Sunday, August 14 from noon to 3 p.m. for their weekly summer barbecue.
Enjoy a variety of foods, soft drinks, music and games, all while enjoying the view of the Harbor.
